Custom Aluminum Chill Plate for the Defense Industry

This custom chill plate is manufactured for a customer in the defense industry and displays our ability at Licari Manufacturing to provide a variety of secondary services in addition to machining. This chill plate is machined from 6061 aluminum and used in a cooling assembly. The plate was machined in one of our CNC vertical milling centers. We have multiple milling centers with 3-axis and 4-axis machining capabilities as well as CNC lathes for precision turning processes. Utilizing SURFCAM software, machining parameters can be programmed from customer provided drawings. Dimensional tolerances were held to as tight as ±0.001".

After machining, the plate was heat treated, gold plated, and painted black. We can arrange for many outside services using local, trusted vendors with the required industry certifications. The cooling plate was leak tested and inspected using CMM equipment to verify dimensions. A variety of metrology equipment and gauges are available to perform thorough inspections to customer specifications. We produce six of these custom chill plates annually with a standard lead time of 6 to 8 weeks.
